I don't plan on this bike being completely out of commission, unless we have a more extreme winter than has been typical lately . However, I can see a 3 to 4 week stretch or two when this bike could be in my unheated garage. The tips and advice about storage are good (thanks), but my main question was do you have to actually "ride" the bike in order to charge the battery, or does the generator/alternator work when the bike is just idling? Also, someone expressed concern that the bike will get hot when idling for 15 or 20 minutes. Will this really be a problem if the temp is below freezing? Anyhow, appreciate the responces, and Ride Well.
